What is the Red Festival? The Red Festival is the biggest UK unsigned event, showcasing over 500 bands per quarter at the UK's best 'local' venues. The Red Festival works on an ethos of giving all states of band a chance to play desirable venues, although careful selection ensures the music is perfect on the day! The Red Festival spans across many major cities in the UK and aims to fill several stages at once with beautiful beautiful music! The Red Festival is essentially one huge day of bands, doors generally opening at 12midday and closing at 11pm, coming soon to a city near you. >> 500+ bands >> 31 stages >> 11 venues >> 16 dates >> 2 months How did the Red Festival begin? The Red Festival began in early 2005 when North-west based Promotions company Redland Promotions created the very first Red Festival in Liverpool Barfly. The idea behind the festival mirrored from larger festivals. Since 2005 Redland Promotions booked more Red Festivals in other cities, leading them to the summer of 2008 where the list is bigger than ever! The Red Festival aqquired a new team in late 2007 meaning more shows could be created and more promotion channels could be followed. The summer of 2008 sees over 500 bands perform at 11 venues, across 31 stages over 16 dates through 2 months! Who runs the Red Festival?
